OUR FUND RAISERS

Although partially funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage, we raise most of our own operating funds through fund raising.

Our Welcome Back Invitational Potluck Supper and Chinese Auction is held on the first Saturday in May (May 6, 2017).  All members are encouraged to invite as many guests as possible and then prepare enough potluck fare to feed the number of people they have invited. The cost is $ 5.00 per person. The Museum will have an average of three to five donated items to bid on at the Chinese Auction. To join in the fun as a member (for a nominal membership fee) or to be invited as a guest, contact us.

Cash Lottery

On the second Saturday in July (July 8, 2017), we hold a Penny Auction in Conjunction with one of the PM Hall's excellent breakfasts. Come early (7:00 - 10:30 AM) to enjoy a scrumptious feast of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast, juice, tea/coffee and best of all - local maple syrup. While you are there, we encourage you to try your luck with some tickets. We have a wonderful penny auction including prizes for boys and girls of all ages (from children to seniors). We also have tickets to sell on raffle items, our cash lottery and a grocery or gift basket or two. The draws are held after the breakfast. Come and make a morning of it - we look forward to seeing you.

Christmas in July Tea: We hold a Tea of sandwiches and sweets along with beverages in Aunt Dinah's Tearoom. We have the place decked out for Christmas and the Gift Shop is a great place to start a little Christmas shopping. A bake table will also be available. This is an annual event held on a Wednesday in July (July 12, 2017) from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM.

Tea and "Talents and Treasures" Silent Auction will be held on August 16, 2017 (Wednesday).

On the Saturday after Labour Day (Sep 9, 2017), we hold our major fund raiser - Heritage Blueberry Festival.

We have a Birthday Calendar Campaign. For $ 10.00 you purchase a PM Community Museum calendar. The calendar features a picture submitted by the Museum. Advertisers can buy ads which are also featured. When you order a calendar, you are able to submit your name(s) and/or the name(s) of loved ones and they will be printed on your/their respective birthdays, anniversaries or memorial dates to a maximum 12 names. If you wish to order one or more calendars, you may contact us.

Usually, annually there is a quilt that has been sewn by a local artist and quilted at a Bee held on our Heritage Day (the third Tuesday in February). We sell raffle tickets on the quilt throughout the year. The drawing for the quilt takes place at the annual Christmas Party in December. Tickets are available at the Museum, at the New Germany Health and Wellness Expo in October or through the distribution in our newsletters. Tickets are sold for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
